R. Malcolm Jones is an award-winning Cinematographer and Director.   Jones photographed and directed his first feature film Secrets of the Magic City starring Jennifer Lewis, Jamie Hector and Keith David. Secrets of the Magic City screened at multiple film festivals including the American Black Film Festival (ABFF), Urban World Film Festival, Champs- Elysees Film Festival, Pan African Film Festival (PAFF), and BronzeLens Film Festival.  The film earned numerous festival awards including Bronzlens’ Best Actress and Best Actor awards, and PAFF’s Capital Partners Award. Secrets of the Magic City premiered on BET and received distribution through EONE Entertainment.

Jones has filmed over 80 music videos and was nominated for a VMA for best Hip Hop video and BET director of the year.

He is currently in post-production on his second feature film Mission Lake. The film stars Alex R. Hibbert (Moonlight, The Chi), Marc John Jefferies, and John Beasley.  He recently served as a staff writer on the upcoming animated series Young Love based on Matthew A. Cherry’s academy award winning short film Hair Love. The series is set to be released on HBO Max.  Jones is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Motion Pictures.
